A private guide through the souks, lantern lane to leather to spices to the dye pits. Mint tea on a rooftop above Place des Épices. Down through the medina at dusk for the storytellers, the snake charmers, the smoke off the food stalls.

Jardin Majorelle & YSL

The cobalt-blue villa Jacques Majorelle built and Yves Saint Laurent kept. The cactus garden, the Berber museum, the YSL Museum next door. Lunch in the Yves Saint Laurent café under the bamboo.

Spa Day: Hammam & Massage

A morning at the hammam. Steam, kessa scrub, savon noir, ghassoul clay, the heat off the marble. Massages booked through the afternoon, full-body, slow oil. Lunch in the gardens, tea on the terrace.

Agafay Desert: Camels & Dinner Under The Stars

The Itinerary.

01Arrival

Arrival & Dinner At Dar Yacout

Arrivals into Marrakech-Menara (RAK), private transfers fifteen minutes out to the Private Estate. Welcomed at the door with mint tea or drinks, a tour of the villa. Settle in, time on the property. Dinner at Dar Yacout. Music in the courtyard, pastilla, méchoui, a parade of tagines, the rooftop with drinks pouring.

02Medina

Souks & A Long Lunch At La Mamounia

Late breakfast at the villa. Private guide through the souks from Bab Doukkala, lantern alley to spice market to dye pits. Mint tea above Place des Épices. Cars over to La Mamounia for a long lunch in the gardens under the olive trees. Slow afternoon at the villa. Quiet dinner in.

03Wellness

Pool, Hammam, Massage. Dinner Out.

No alarm. Pool all morning. Hammam at noon, kessa scrub, savon noir, ghassoul clay, a long massage after. The group that wants more medina heads back into the souks for the afternoon. The rest stay by the pool. Cars into the medina for dinner at L'Hôtel Marrakech, a long romantic dinner, the classic Marrakech evening.

04Garden

Jardin Majorelle & The YSL Museum

Early entry to Jardin Majorelle before the queues, the Berber Museum in Jacques Majorelle's cobalt-blue villa. The YSL Museum next door, the haute couture archive in a single dark room. Lunch in the Yves Saint Laurent café under the bamboo. Afternoon at the villa, dinner on the terrace.

05Desert

Agafay: Camels & A Private Dinner Under The Stars

Slow morning. The Agafay, the stone desert with the Atlas on the horizon. Camels into the sunset, drinks at the tented camp. A private dinner under the stars, live music, drums and a brass tray of mint tea.

06Kitchen

Cooking Class & A Shisha Night

A class at the chef's table. The tagine, the breads, the salads, mint tea. Pool in the afternoon. Cars into the medina at 9 for shisha at Comptoir Darna, low couches, oud and gnawa until late.

07Farewell

Balloon At Dawn, Feast At Night

A dawn pickup for a hot air balloon over the palmeraie and the Atlas foothills, the light coming up over the snow line. Champagne breakfast in a Berber tent on landing. Back to the villa. Pool, lunch under the olive trees. Farewell feast on the roof at sunset, mechoui lamb pulled apart by hand, dancing past midnight.

08Departure

The Flight Home

Breakfast on the terrace, last swim, group transfers fifteen minutes back to Marrakech-Menara. Onward flights from there.
